Madhurkathi Table Mats

Madhur of Bengal, a traditional pride is what we call as Madhurkathi mats. Women of the households are involved in weaving this beautiful craft.

The crafts people have a practice of dyeing the Madhur sticks with natural and vegetable dye. The natural colouring of the reeds is used for weaving geometric designs on the mats, creating a subtle pattern in the finished mat.
