Lantana can never go unnoticed especially if you are in the country side - with it's pretty flowers, it will easily fool you. In the last 100 years this pretty looking invasive species has become a 2 Billion Dollar ecological disaster in Southern India alone. Lantana is changing India's forest landscape, restricting wildlife movement, inhibiting the growth of local species and contributing to enormous biodiversity loss and zoonotic diseases.
So what is Bamboopecker doing about it?
We are turning the problem into a resource!!
By weaving lantana into our design philosophy we are contributing towards clearing Lantana and also providing funds to tribes to harvest it sooner than later.
