Yelagiri Log House
Yelagiri is a quaint little town on Yelagiri hills, Tamil Nadu. A weekend home for our client, this Yelagiri Bamboo Log cabin was made with materials from the site and bamboo from a near by farm, with an exception of a few bags of cement and kiln-fired bricks that was brought in. We used earth and stone from the site for foundation and filling in the bamboo wall. The walls are made up of two layers of whole bamboo with a gap in between that was filled with earth. Doors and windows were salvaged from an old house nearby to the site. The roof treatment was completed with Onduline sheets.
